How to Extract Numeric Values from Strings Using Power Automate

In this video, We demonstrate a powerful technique to extract numeric values from strings using Power Automate flows. Recently, I faced a challenge extracting prices from receipt scans that also contained non-numeric values. To solve this, create a Power Automate flow specifically designed to isolate numeric data from any given string.

Instead of searching for a regular expression that could handle this task, utilise Power Automate to build a flow capable of distinguishing numeric values. The process involves taking an input string, setting up variables for the final numeric string and a counter, and using a loop to parse through each character. By checking if characters are numeric or include a decimal point, the flow appends only the relevant numeric data to the final string.

This method is not only efficient but also versatile. It can be integrated as a child flow, allowing it to be called upon whenever numeric extraction is required in larger workflows.
